a bit of bio:
you might be wondering about the origins of the name, then i will explain in to you. original name of Jason Corders’ project was “ Off The Sky”, but being a movie freak, while watching “Trainspotting” movie, Jason misheard one of the lines that being told.
Renton: Never again, Swanney. Im off the scag.
Swanney: Are you serious?
Renton: Yeah, no more. Im finished with that shite.
Swanney: Well, its up to you, man.
Renton: Gonna get it right this time. Gonna get it sorted out. Gonna get off it for good.
instead of hearing “off the scag” Corder heard “off the sky”. he found it completely suitable because of British slang word “sky” used to express “heroin”. then the spaces between words were removed to create a new morph, new word. Jason Corder is also releasing some works under his full name.
>>>>>>>>>> other projects made by or involving Jason Corder:
- juxta phona
- aeris ash
- muridae
- shelters end (my personal favourite)
- lights like windows
rare decay:
released in 2007, following a few other releases made in the same year, rare decay is a breathtaking mix of light textures, distorted and reverbed field recordings, noise and sine waves, and of course piano. this industrial noise makes you dream and see a lot images in your head, but it depends on you of course. appropriate music for “thought tripping” i say. Glitchiness may add some rhythm to it, but you will hardly notice. i recommend this album for times you walking home, watching the snow fall.
